What if the event I am participating in is not a running event? Can I still participate?

Absolutely! The Team JDRF Challenge is all about endurance events, so whatever type of event you are participating in, Team JDRF will be your partner! At this time, much of our material focuses on running events, but we have participants in hikes, triathlons, bikes - anything goes. We will be adding materials on other types of events, so keep checking back.

What if I want to participate in the Team JDRF Challenge, but don't see an event listed in my area?

Start one!! You can participate in any existing endurance event - ANYWHERE! All you need to do is register directly with the event you wish to participate in and work with Team JDRF to get a fundraising page set up for you to begin your fundraising! You will also have access to both of our training options, in person (if available in your area) or virtual. Just follow this link to register for your fundraising page today.

I have had some donors give me checks or cash, what should I do with it?

It’s never safe to mail cash. Have cash donors transfer the cash into a cashier's check or personal check. Checks should be made payable to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. All offline donations should be turned in to your local JDRF Chapter. Be sure to indicate your name and the event that you are participating in. You can also add your offline donations to your online fundraising page by signing into your account, clicking on "view donations", and clicking on "add cash or checks".

What if a check is made out to me and not to JDRF?

If a supporter makes the check payable to you, simply endorse the check with your signature and "Payable to JDRF".

What is a Matching Gift and how can it help my fundraising?

Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that doubles (or in some cases, triples) your gift. By participating in these programs, you and your supporters can significantly increase the impact of their donation.

Contact your human resources or finance department to see if your company has a matching gift program, taking note of any possible restrictions. Fill out the proper forms, and then send your paperwork with donations to your local JDRF chapter, noting your event name and Team JDRF. Remind your donors that their companies may have matching gift programs too.

What are some other ways that I can get involved with JDRF?

Yes! We have many ways for you to get involved with JDRF. Team JDRF has two other aspects - Community Event and Tribute Pages. These programs are ideal for grassroot fundraising events.
